White River Sports Youth Soccer
In the spring of 2011 we will kick off our 7th season of youth soccer here at White River Sports. With over 250 kids participating each season, we want your child to be involved too. We promise we will provide a place for your child to engage in healthy athletic competition.
Why Small-Sided Soccer or Micro Soccer? In 2008 we introduced a new type of soccer called Small-Sided or Micro Soccer. This is a format that has been fully endorsed by US Youth Soccer. It has been proven to teach kids the fundamentals more effectively while providing a more exciting game experience. Four players from each team will play at a time, and there will be no more than 8 players on a team.
"But this isn't real soccer," is a comment we often hear. There have been studies by youth sports organizations across America which have decided this format is the best way to teach kids basic fundamentals. A child comes in contact with the ball more frequently, is able to play each position throughout the course of a game, take and defend more shots on the goal, and the format yields a higher scoring, more exciting game for players and spectators.

Your registration fee of $68, includes a team jersey, socks, water bottle, and more. All team equipment for practice and games in regard to balls, goals, cones, practice jerseys (pennies), etc., is provided by the league. Shorts are sold as an option for additional $12. Players will need to have their own cleats and shin-guards, soccer cleats are recommended but not required.

We do not keep standings. We do not have a tournament at the end of the season. The league is designed to teach and emphasize fundamentally sound soccer and provide players the opportunity to compete without the added pressure of standings and/or championships.
Can I coach in the league?
Anyone is eligible to apply to coach in the league, however, we do complete background checks on all coaching applicants and reserve the right to accept or decline coaches on the basis of our discretion. Learn More
